You are invited to join local leaders and advocates in Stevens Point for a day of free activities promoting climate resilience & active transport!

Art Installation at Stevens Point Brewery, 2617 Water St.
Local artist and transport equity advocate Trevor Roark will paint a temporary crosswalk with themes of climate resilience and sustainable transportation in front of Stevens Point Brewery.
12-1pm Lunch | State Climate Action Plan w/ OSCE
Schmeeckle Reserve Picnic Shelter | 2000 Maria Dr.
Representatives from the Wisconsin Office of Sustainability and Clean Energy will share information and gather input on the state’s first Comprehensive Climate Action Plan, to be released in 2025. Lunch will be provided.
1-2pm Walk/Roll Audit
Schmeeckle Reserve Picnic Shelter | 2000 Maria Dr. to Division & 6th
After lunch, Susan Gaeddert (1000 Friends of Wisconsin) and Trevor Roark (Transport Equity Advocate, Owner of Curbwise, LLC) will lead an informal walk/roll audit from the picnic shelter to Division St. & 6th St., where Adam Kuhn (City of Stevens Point) will share the City’s plans for improving pedestrian safety and access at that intersection.
4:30-5pm Community Bike Ride
Stevens Point Brewery at 2617 Water St. to UWSP campus
Meet at Point Brewery (2617 Water St.) to view the artistic crosswalk before taking a leisurely bike ride to the UWSP campus.
5-6pm Meetup for local transport advocates
Chemistry Biology building atrium at UWSP
Meet community leaders and advocates, including alumni of the 2023 Community Transportation Academy, for a casual reception in the atrium of the beautiful Chemistry-Biology building at UWSP. Everyone is welcome.
Light snacks and beverages will be provided.
6:30-8:30pm The Street Project screening with Q&A
Dreyfus University Center Theater
The Street Project is a documentary by 9x award winning filmmaker Jennifer Boyd about the global citizen-led fight to keep our streets safe from traffic violence. Come to a free screening at 6:30pm followed by an open Q&A moderated by Susan Gaeddert (1000 Friends of Wisconsin) with local panelists, including Sarah Manasreh (UWSP professor), Anna Menominee (UWSP student), Ish Odogba (UWSP professor), and Trevor Roark (Transport Equity Advcoate, Curbwise LLC).
Climate, Connections, & Community is hosted by 1000 Friends of Wisconsin and supported by AARP Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Office of Sustainable and Clean Energy.
